Proquimia inaugurates its new logistics warehouse with an investment of 10 million euros

The facility, with capacity for more than 8,000 pallets, reinforces Proquimia’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and industrial safety.

Proquimia has officially inaugurated its new logistics warehouse in Les Masies de Voltregà, in an institutional event attended by the Hon. Ms. Sílvia Paneque i Sureda, Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Government of Catalonia, along with institutional and business representatives from the region.

During the event, Proquimia’s president and founder, Mr. Josep Maria Onyós, reviewed the company’s trajectory and the strategic decisions that have consolidated its growth over more than five decades. Meanwhile, the general manager, Mr. Carles Onyós, emphasized Proquimia’s firm commitment to sustainability, innovation, and industrial safety, stressing that the new facility represents “a step forward in operational efficiency and in meeting the most demanding standards of the chemical sector.”

The new logistics center, built on a 42,000 m² plot, includes an 8,500 m² warehouse with capacity for more than 8,000 pallets. It has been designed in accordance with the high-level SEVESO directive, which regulates the prevention of major accidents in facilities handling chemical products. The project involved a total investment of 10 million euros and is considered one of the safest facilities in Catalonia within its category.

In her speech, Minister Paneque highlighted the leadership of Catalonia’s chemical industry as an economic and innovation driver and pointed to Proquimia as an example of a company committed to sustainable development and deeply rooted in its territory.

The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, a guided tour of the new facilities, and the screening of a corporate video showcasing the company’s activity.

With over 50 years of history, presence in 25 countries, seven production centers, and a team of more than 600 people, Proquimia consolidates with this project its strategy for sustainable growth, reaffirming its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability throughout its value chain.
