La phosphatation est un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 industriel largement employ\u00e9 comme pr\u00e9traitement chimique pour la protection des surfaces m\u00e9talliques. Elle consiste en la formation d\u2019une couche superficielle de conversion en phosphate m\u00e9tallique, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 base de Fe (phosphatation amorphe) et\/ou de Zn. Les couches form\u00e9es remplissent une double fonction : la passivation par effet barri\u00e8re vis-\u00e0-vis de l\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne, limitant la corrosion du m\u00e9tal, et la promotion de l\u2019adh\u00e9rence de rev\u00eatements suppl\u00e9mentaires, tels que les peintures.\r\n\r\nLa phosphatation amorphe (au fer) offre une grande simplicit\u00e9 d\u2019application, une facilit\u00e9 de contr\u00f4le \u00e9lev\u00e9e et une qualit\u00e9 adapt\u00e9e aux mat\u00e9riaux expos\u00e9s \u00e0 des environnements de corrosivit\u00e9 faible \u00e0 moyenne.\r\n\r\nLa phosphatation au zinc, en revanche, est un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de traitement plus complexe, con\u00e7u pour atteindre des niveaux de qualit\u00e9 maximaux, m\u00eame dans des environnements tr\u00e8s corrosifs.
