Proquimia, S.A. is a family business founded in 1971 by Mr. Josep Mª Onyós. In its first stage, its activity was based on the production of detergent chemical products for industrial purposes for the institutional market. Shortly afterwards, with the aim of increasing its area of activity, therefore achieving a higher level of specialisation, the Industrial Division was established. Its activity was focused on the sale of products for metallurgic industry. Later on, in 1984, the Food Division was set up. In 1992 the Export Division was established with the intention of channeling and managing the growing international expansion. Nowadays, Proquimia has a subsidiary company in Cuba (Suchel-Proquimia) and another one in Chile (Proquimia-Chile), besides from all the offices and distributors located in several countries : France, Portugal, Andorra, Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Algeria, Morocco and Tanzania. In 1998 Proquimia obtained the Quality Certification IS0 9001 and in 2001 it achieved the Environmental Certification ISO 14001. In our first thirty years we have gained valuable experience which, together with a wide range of products, our fourteen Spanish branches and a distribution network located in Europe, Central and South America, allows us to meet all the needs of more than 7,000 customers. Nowadays, Proquima is much more than a chemical industry. We are able to offer the best service and optimise the results by means of the industrial and cleaning technology. With this aim, in 2001 we set up Proquimia Hygiene Partner (PHP) and Proquimia Service Partner (PSP), a personalised consultancy service that recommends the best suited solutions and products to each company's needs.
